What's one family recipe that you wish you knew how to cook?
Sauerbraten with Carrots and Spatzel
My mom doesnt even know how to make this one. This is one that grandma will make and send over to us. It is just SOOO yummy. The meat juices are so amazing that I could literally eat just the carrots and spatzels drenched in the juices.
This is one of those special things that we would only eat every so often, because Grandma would make it and send it home with mom when she visited after church on a weekday.
It's one of those things that makes me wish I could go spend some time learning from Grandma. But then again, since Grandma moved out of the house, she doesn't really cook anymore, so I guess I lost my opportunity there.
I'll just have to learn all sorts of recipes from housemates and friends and friends-like-family instead :)
