Well today sucks!

At some point between 12:30AM when i parked my car under a street light about 5 houses down from mine, and 7:20 when my housemate walked past on his way to teh train to go to church..someone decided to try to break into my car, give up, smash my drivers window, and root around in my car, finding and stealing my GPS unit.

Gotta love city life

one thing i do not miss about the city. i hated the feeling of violation after the fact. sorry for the inconvenience of it all because I know from experience how this can just wreck a day.

Hey! Got here through librarygrrrl's site. That does suck. I'm sorry -- insurance will cover it I hope?

Yup, the insurance covered most of it (deductable of course) and the shop was able to get all the major work done. They wouldnt do the re-paint in time for my road trip and move down to texas this week. So I'll have to deal with that once I get down there. But at least my window exists and works again.

At least you have a working window. Who needs GPS when there's MapQuest? :P

I lived in Houston when I first went to college. Got too homesick, for Chicago, though.

Good luck with the move and have a safe trip! You know...there's an upcoming women's hockey tourney in Richardson, TX, at the end of the month. :D
